Gerhard Bothma

Gerhard is a Futurepreneur. As an intuitive thinker, strategist, people developer and opportunity creator he helps individuals, organisations and communities build better futures. After starting out in the legal field, Gerhard studied theology at the University of Pretoria where he received two degrees cum laude and a Ph.D. He was a congregational minister for more than two decades but then changed careers. He still sometimes delivers church sermons as a secular thinker. Gerhard’s interests lie with applied neurosciences and creativity. He is a certified brain profile practitioner. He wants to know, not speculate. He is convinced that religion, racism, classism, and other human made divisions and boundaries have torn humanity apart and strives for the promotion of Sapienism, scientific literacy and critical thinking. Gerhard has written four books and numerous academic and popular articles and has given lectures and talks on a variety of subjects. He founded the movement Great SA through which he challenges people to commit to building a better, open, and inclusive and sustainably functioning society.
